The refectory is a vibrant and friendly environment that is the primary domain for student socialising on the University campus. 10,000 students use the refectory each day consuming 2000 main meals, 1000 sandwiches and over 4000 snacks.

The menu is determined to a large extent by encouraging student opinion and it can boast of "The Widest Choice" and "Cheapest Average Prices" of any university in Scotland.

The refectory extension hosts a wide range of students events, such as rock concerts, graduations, fresher's week activities, presentations, elections, parties and is the main area for end of semester examinations.

Interestingly, the refectory serves over 50 kilos of pasta per day and on a weekly basis, 2000 home made pizzas and 400 gallons of home made soup are consumed!
